As an artist I have taught painting and drawing to both children and adults since] 988, starting with an assignment at the McClelland Guild Of Artists Inc. Since then I have given private lessons at Orkney Studio in Somerville (1989-1996), at Dawnwood Studio in Frankston (since 1996) and have been a Demonstration Artist at the Camberwell Art Show in 2000 and 2002.

My teaching and painting careers have merged since graduation from university in 1990. Then, having being awarded the Alice Bale Scholarship (valued at $ 30,000 in 1995), I spent eighteen months in Europe studying classical portraiture and still life, greatly influenced by the master painters of Britain and Spain.

I am, myself, committed to working directly from life, with model or landscape, and I encourage my students to do likewise.
