Mumford, Kristian

Kristian MUMFORD – born.1980 in country South Australia. Mumford is third generation Australian visual artist and son of Jenni Mumford, award winning impressionist painter. In 2005 he was appointed a coordinator at the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust. In 2008 the Agora New York Gallery invited him to a group exhibit in ‘From Down Under and Beyond’.

Young Mumford creates pieces for the art collectors, who do it for the love of art, and his oil collections offer people a way to express themselves poetically whilst feeling confident.

Adelaide based Mumford was already a regular exhibitor prior to completing Post Graduate studies in both Visual Arts at SA, and Landscape Architecture at Melbourne University. His work continues to draw critical acclaim with regular and highly successful solo exhibitions, private collectors, commissions and representation in USA, and Australia.

Mumford has completed self-organized residencies in several Australian Centres, as well as in Amsterdam as the winner of the ANAT Traveling Arts Grant.

He has been an awarded 1st prize in the national Ipswich ‘Just Nudes’, twice; finalist in the world’s richest landscape prize; Fluerieu Art Prize, finalist in the prestigious Hans Heysen Prize, Mortimore on several occasions and Aethetica (England) prizes. His various works is held in the collections of the Art House Hotel (New South Wales), Adelaide University Collection, and numerous corporate and private collections.

Kristian is a life artist, working in oil painting, drawing, gardens, and architecture. (I’m just 32.)

“I’m an artist/painter, however, my life is full of many experiences including: having been born and raised in South Australia , now with 15 years in business; Worked in Arts, Management, Training and Sales roles; Lived and worked in Australia and wouldn’t give it up for the world; Spent time as a solitary and free man.

Currently I own and operate a family farm and art business, also a DJ house and ‘mixed style’ and alternative music and run my Painter’s Retreat in the impressionist tradition”.
