Colley started painting in 1986. Throughout his early years his talent was nurtured by his father, respected Queensland artist, Eric Whisson. Colley's instinct for colour and light are exciting to view. Colley ventures out on regular plein-air painting trips in the tradition of the Heidelberg school. His paintings are without question realistic, however, at the same time filled with artistic content and interpretation that make them uniquely his own. With over 20 Solo and many joint Exhibitions, prizes, and judging appointments to his credit, Colley has built a reputation on the international stage.
