John Graham is a professional artist who has been exhibiting his work since 1986.
John is skilled in a variety of media and with a broad stylistic range, his work is filled with vivid and colourful images influenced by his travels to Africa, Asia and within Australia.
John is also a passionate collector of Tribal Art and has curated several exhibitions featuring works from his collections.
"My paintings focus on the raw nature of landscape - of Earth, Water, Fire and Air. I refine these works, reducing detail and limiting or enhancing colour, to give a sense of vast, isolated space. I flattening the view and spread it across the canvas in broad swathes of colour, to capture the chaotic vagaries of nature".
These landscapes were inspired by remote parts of Central Australia, South East Asia and West Africa where I have traveled on painting trips. I rely on sketches, dreams and memories to can ignite the creative spark that drives a painting to its completion.
John has created a new series of paintings - 'the ferral cats' - all very whimisical, colourful and fun - have been loved by all.
John's paintings have been selected for inclusion in the prestigious Waterhouse Natural History Art prize, for the last two years. Seaview Gallery continually exhibits John's new works.
