Lindsay Womersley

Lindsay's is a popular artist who has been painting professionally for around 20 years.

Born in Melbourne in 1941, Lindsay graduated from Swinburne College (University) as a qualified teacher and taught art at secondary and tertiary levels for 20 years. His love and understanding for his subjects is evident in the fine draftsmanship shown in his paintings. He is possibly best known for his outstanding water colours, however, he uses all mediums.

Lindsay gains inspiration for many paintings by living by the sea; marinas with reflections of boats, sandbars and coastal scenes. However, he retains a strong interest and enthusiasm in historical and heritage buildings and the Australian landscape. He travels extensively into the outback to capture our land of contrast, arid red, blues, ochres and siennes waiting to have their image captured on paper .

Lindsay has also been overseas a number of times resulting in a successful exhibition of European watercolours.

Lindsay has staged many successful solo and group exhibitions and won numerous awards. His work hangs in private and public collections in Australia and overseas.
